Default Rear Speaker Performance

I have already upgraded the stereo system all around and have aftermarket components in the rear. I was just wondering if anybody had a good idea as how to get the best out of the rear panel woofers. Where you mount the rear speakers behind the rear panel is a flimsy piece of metal with no real reinforcements. Also there is a lot of room behind the speakers where sound can go and basically sound awful. They sound ok now and I have speaker baffles in there but the way the metal is designed behind the panels still doesn't allow them to provide any substantial mounting. Anyone have any other ideas on how to get the best performance from the rear speakers?

So you mean a fiberglass pod as in something like a speaker baffle but not just made out of the cheap plastic or foam like they usually sell? How hard would that be to do? I have a lot of dynamat in my car including everywhere in the rear panels so I'm good to go there.
