Default Recommend speakers pls

hey guys, sry to make yet another topic but audio is important and it's different for everyone, so I gotta ask this yet again.

I'm very picky when it comes to sound and I like nice clean sound with some good bass. Now I don't wanna have any box or bass only speakers in the rear just change the factory door speakers for some good quality ones. With that in mind is there some high range speakers that would give me clean sound as well as bass ?

I'll b runnin in-dash dvd so would I need to run amplifier for that as well or would dvd b enough power for the speakers ?

- The tC stereo uses 6 speakers: two tweeters in the doors, two 6.3" speakers in the front doors, and two 5.6" speakers in the rear. WOW is that true ? I don't see speakers that size.

what sciondriver linked are some of the top speakers around, very highly recommended. you can do a lot better than type r's. what's your budget? if less than 200, then just get eD's 6000 v2.0's. if you call and order it should be about 122 (with 10% discount for calling in the order instead of doing it online), otherwise its 135. if you can budget more than 200 though then you'll open your range up quite a bit. if you want truly high quality speakers you'll need to budget around 400 or so and another 200 for an amp to power them. it all depends how in depth you want to get.

just heed my warning...dont be cheap. if you cant afford it right now for nicer quality stuff (read: >$200), then wait til you save up for it. in the end, you'll be much happier.

i ended up buying polk db6500's with an amp from circuit city and some rear speaks (didnt know at the time that i didnt need rear speakers) along with a HU and i ended up spending about 800 bucks.....well....8 months later i was ripping everything out and cursing myself for being so cheap the first time.

i ended up with a "budget" install that included front speakers (a $400 set), an amp for the fronts, an sq10 sub and enclosure, an amp for that, an EQ for the HU, some eDead sound deadening, and the wiring for about $1300. the remnants of my old system resulted in about 200 bucks being brought back in....i lost 400 bucks on that sytem (HU was continued over to the new system...200 bucks right there). so overall ive spent 1900 to get my stereo how i want it, when i could have just spent 1500 or less.

moral of the story is: DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

i opted for the DLS UP6. the link that sciondriver linked is my car and they're amazing. downside is the cost. 400 for the components. 220 for the amp and 4 hrs of install at 80 dollars an hour. so around 1000 for everythign said and done. but is it worth it?!?

oh yeah

but i'll be upgrading next winter lol

Yeah, I wanna do it right the first time.
On my previous car I went with mid lvl speakers and some JVC receiver, at the time I thought I was buyin good quality set but I was wrong. I'm too picky and I like clear sound so no more decent speakers for me I gotta invest in something really good, hell I can spend $400 per set of speakers as long as I know that I'm not overpayin and that I get what I pay for.

the DLS's that neb's got are great. i've got CDT M6's with DRT-26 tweeters. love the m6's.....you dont just hear the midbass....you feel it. i love it. both of these sets can be had for 400ish. if you up your limit a little bit, you can get a very nice set of focal's for a little below 500 on ebay. if you go even further up.....dynaudio 240gt's are some great speakers. boston z6's also work...they suck a lotta juice though. morel's are awesome....i think their elate set fits the sub 500 section? maybe its the hybrid ovation...cant quite remember. rainbow germaniums are nice....you could go with rainbow profi vanadiums but in all honest it takes a lot of tuning to make those sound better than the germaniums for the price difference. i think seas lotus is pretty far out of the price range if i remember right. jl zr's are nice, but definitely overpriced....not worth 500 imo. zapco's got a new set out on woofersetc.com that supposedly got some good reviews. hell i think pio premier even brought out a new comp set thats halfway decent.

i would say head over to ecoustics.com and caraudio.com and tell those guys what type of sound you're lookin for, and anything else that could come into consideration. from there they can lead you down the right path. you've got a lot of options though. have fun with the search! took me almost 2 months to decide what i wanted....i actually ended up getting my CDT set for 350 shipped, otherwise i would have probably ended up with something different. to be honest, i might change up to focal at some point but im not quite sure yet. we'll see. good luck man.

most of the stuff on eD's website seems good, but I've never had experience with it.

I've noticed that infinity refernce series has decent amount of bass, more than the type-r's in my opinion. Just curious, why are against gettin a sub? Because there are packages like the infinity basslink that is very small but provides that little extra bass that most component speakers don't give.

and you can do 6 1/2'' components for the front

if you want some bass without going subs.

go with a dls set up front and get two 7kv.2's for the rear fill. then run a nine.4 to them and that would be a great setup

there's nothing wrong with polks....as long as you're comparing them to pioneer's and you're best buy or circuit city. but when you expand your options to stuff that is online...such as CDT, Focal, Morel, Dynaudio, DLS, ScanSpeak, Vifa....I could go on and on.....but when you expand your options past circuit city, you find a speaker world you never even knew existed.....and that will crush circuit city-sold speakers anyday. in all honesty, how many times have you heard of those brands? probably none at all.....its simply because they're a higher-end product that only a limited number of people know about. its just that most people don't expand their knowledge past circuit city and best buy.
