Default Remote Start Install

Hey guys, i have the Viper 130XV, and was wondering where some of the wires go. I got the car wiring diagram from the 12 volt, but all the wires listed on viper are not on the 12volt.

(+) Ignition out (to alarm)
(-) activation input
(+) activation input
channel 2(validity only)
neutral safety switch input
(-) hood pinswitch
(-) 200 mA 2nd status/rear defogger output.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

have you ever done a remote start install before?? If you have never done one bring it to a pro! Our cars are not easy to install a remote start into.

Thats just my .02 but others will chime in and maybe help you and others will sit here and tell you what I just told you.

Also, the search button atop works wonders.

ok, I will give you some insight.

Have you worked with relays before?
Is your car manual? Auto?
Is it an alarm also or just a remote start?

I wasn't gunna go there about the leaving it in gear, I have one on my manual tC also.

Anyway, you are going to need a couple of relays to get this to work. One is going to be used for the 2nd ignition and the another for the 2nd starter, they both need to see 12V when the car gets remote started.

As for the wires you are referring to I am looking at the install manual right now for your remote start.

is this an add on car starter? Or a stand alone unit?

If it is a stand alone unit then the (+) Ignition out wire does not need to be connected.

the Activation input wires should not have to be used unless you want to change the number of times you want to press the remote start button, from the factory you have to press the * button twice to remote start the car.

The Channel 2 Validity Only wire is only used to drive a relay for maybe adding the auto up/down window feature from DEI when arming or disarming. Does not need to be used.

The neutral safety switch wire is used to tell the system that the vehicle is in park, just ground that wire to the ebrake switch and you should be ok.

Hood pin switch is used under the hood, if your hood is open while it is remote started it will automatically shut off the car if you put a pin switch under there. It should have been supplied with the system.

And the last one you have listed is used to control your window defogger, you will need a relay to control that.

I think that is it.

Good luck!

listen, leaving ur car in gear with a remote start can cause problems over time, and its pointless when there are companies who make manual safe remote start bypasses... do a google for em, i believe directed makes one... other than that goodluck, on ya one more thing, i dunno where u live, but it gets cold up here in michigan, and sometimes the manual takes a cupple more turns than usual to start up, i would add a tach wire if i were u. goodluck

I know you need a relay for the 2nd start wire, 2nd ign. most of the DEI products I've installed have a 2nd ign. output on them. tach can be grabbed at the ecm behind the glove box. you can use the 2nd status output to trigger the bypass module you'd need for the "immobilizer" to all the car to start without the key. date imo and imi are also found at the ecm.

You are using a bypass module right?

you can actually get the tach wire from the computer hookup under the drivers dash, it is a black wire at pin 9 I think.
