Default Replacing bulbs and making them BRIGHTER with leds.

Hey everyone, ok i basically want to buy leds for my tail lights and reverse/brake lights in the back. I have been reading up on this and know that some people say it wont work as well as the stock lights because leds are not directional. I know people say that but there are also lights out there that have leds mounted in the front and then mounted on the sides also, so wouldnt this cause the housing to reflect the light coming off the leds on the side? Basically i have no idea which leds to look into since theres so many different kinds. here is an example of the types ive been looking at.

you won't get anything "brighter"... unless you call little puny dots as "brighter" than your stock bulbs that utilize the reflector housing and actually shine out alot more..

nothing beats a halogen.. in the halogen housing it was designed for.

(btw.. LEDs are directional... (you messed that part up))

yes.. with "bulbs" that have leds mounted to emit lights out to the side are better.... but not so much..

i deem it impractical and a waste of money.

yeh directional thats what i meant, my bad

ok well would i get better output if i got like bulbs from piaa or aftermarket ones that are supposedly brighter? Also i got piaa bulbs for my parking lights but they they are not as white as my hids and it just doesnt look that great, so i put the leds back in that match the white perfectly

anyway i can get whiter bulbs?

I went from a 4LED to a 12LED in the reverse lights and there is a LITTLE difference. You would think 8LEDs would make a lot of difference but it didn't. That's not to say whiter LEDs exist out there, but the cost (and possible fitment issues) aren't worth it.

why do you want your tails brighter anyway? all it accomplishes is annoying the person behind you. some guy with a super bright blinker was in front of me at a stop light and it was annoying as hell.

The only reason I put LEDs in my Tails is because I have the TYCs and I wanted it to look uniform. I left the blinkers alone but I did put LEDs in my reverse housings.

I already blind people when stopped thanks to my Oznium Full Red TBL. (<---Shameless plug. )

bringing this post back from the dead in hopes for an answer.. lol

driver side brake bulb is out
i understand that its a 7443 21/5w clear wedge bulb
only question is which one will look the closest to the oem bulb, as i'm a little confused which one to get. i don't want it to look ghetto and have one brighter than the other.
any ideas?

I would recommend replacing both sides, if the bulbs aren't too expensive. If you have never replaced either side, chances are pretty good that you are nearing the end of the passenger's side brake light bulb. If you replace both, you'll definitely accomplish the uniform thing and you won't have to worry about this issue again when it's only the passenger side bulb that has burned out.
