Default Reupholstering interior need help...and yes i searched!

Ok so heres my questions...

1. I am reupholstering the panels with white leather, I know and have seen other people that have just put the new fabric over the original and just sprayed it down with glue. Would that work the same with leather or will I need to strip the pieces down?

2. What is the best method for removing the panels? Should I drill it out or cut them off with a dremel?

I know its really simple questions for some ppl but this is my first car and I'm still learning how to do everything myself. Thanks for all the help guys!

I found it insanely easy to just use a 1/4 drill and screwdriver to pop the plastic welds off.

personally i just used a x-acto with a snub blade. and i was careful about it, because im clumsy and tend to mess my hands up real good.

and i actually removed the original fabric then got rid of the excess glue on the plastic insert panels (with paint stripper) then sanded the panel to rough it up, and in my case, i sueded them.

the new fabric stuck really well and i had scrap OEM fabric for another project ill be doing.

i would highly advise you not to do white leather, over time it will crack like all leather does and youll get dirt in the cracks which will be damn near impossible to get out.

just lookin out.

I used a dremmel to remove the plastic welds, then used a arts/crafts hot glue gun and glue sticks to put it back together....dunno about the white leather part, but I'm sure if you use the heavy duty interior adhesive it should work fine

my interior is white and black, and I just want white panels to go with it, but white suede won't look very good i don't think, what do you think would be good to get?

yea i thought about white too but any material in white will get dirty real easy.

i have a three color theme, white black and green so obviously im doing mine green.

but if yours is just black and white then idk, i really wouldnt do any material in white though.

i have a hard enough time getting my door handles clean from ppls dirty **** hands (theyre white) i cant even imagine trying to get that dirt outta any kind of fabric.
