Default s2 or s4 eD sub?

i have a Sony XM-2252HX Amp

http://www.teamrocs.com/reviews/amplifiers/XM2252HX.htm

which eD sub (s2 or s4) should I get to match it?

also, how would I tune it?
and finally would this fit in the spare tire?

sorry for the noob questions.

single 2 ohm is what you need
the specs says it will do the same wattage at 2 ohm and 4 ohm but id do the 2 ohm

tuning is the last step. Tuning depends on your box/box size/ placement of the sub/ other speakers.

the amp should fit in the spare tire

NO......you want the S4...that amp is a 2 channel amp so when you bridge it the 4 will drop to a 2 ohm load. If you have 2 ohm sub and bridge it then that will drop it to a 1ohm load which that amp CANNOT handle.

Not to mention..that amp is pushing double the recommended RMS power for the SQ10 (is that the sub you're getting?)....if so then I would make sure you keep that gain at 1/2 or less as to not overpower the sub.

I know...it will work..I was just telling you to make sure you keep the gain down. Let us know how it sounds when you get it all hooked up!

Burn a tone disk to what ever Hz level you want the sub to play at......I used a 50 Hz tone........put it in the player withthe gain all the way down........turn deck up to 75% of the volume.

Use the formula of the amount of watts you want to goto the sub x the ohms and then take the square root of that........that will give you the AC voltage that needs to goto the sub from the amp.

Use a vilage tester and put it on the pos and neg terminals and turn up the gain till you get the AC volts form the mathmatical figure........

that will give you a non clipped signal up to 75% of the stereo volume.........that is my understanding at least and what I did with my amp and speakers and they are clear and loud with no clipping.

He's getting a single sub, no matter if it is 2 or 4ohms single voice coil, the amp will see that 2 or 4ohm load. Also it gives the same power at both loads.

GAIN **** is not a VOLUME ****. 1/2, 3/4, 5/8, all arbitrary to the HU output voltage, you are matching the gain **** with the HU preouts.
