Scratches on cd deck faceplate

Just got my new alpine ida x100 and i already have scratches on the face plate! Has anyone had luck with removing scratches from this type of a surface?

there's not much you can do. i have a monster scratch on my avic-d3 faceplate and i've tried everything to get it off.

If the scratches aren't too bad, toothpaste might get them out...
