Bought son Scion tC 09. Got it home last night he moved the seat up and now it only goes back about 8 inches and hangs up. Seems as though the outside drivers seat is fine but the medial side closest to the console gets caught and will not go backwards. Any help is appreciated.

Try the recline lever. Push the seat back all the way forward. I have a tC2, when it stuck, that's what worked.

It started working again so I took it apart and there was a bottle cap off a 20oz coke bottle wedged in the lock mechanism. Go figure. It works fine now. I couldn't get the front bolts as the seat only went far enough back that it was directly over the bolt heads. It worked out but it was frustrating since it had to work in order to remove the bolts holding the seat to the car. Thank you sir.
