Securing an aftermarket e-brake boot?
I got a new e-brake boot from Redline Goods about a month ago and wasn't quite sure on how to secure it so as a temporary fix I just used some electrical tape to hold it in place. The installation page on their website says to use duct tape or epoxy glue. Anyone got any better ideas?
I wish I'd taken pics when I did mine.... Its on there really tight.
Anyway, here's what I remember:
- on the underside of the plastic panel the boot sits in, on one side there are these little vertical braces. Maybe 3/8" tall. I drilled a few holes across them, and cut some little slits in the boot. Then tiny zip ties through the boot and brace holes.
- On the other side of the boot, there are these little triangles extending from the plastic. I pulled the boot close to them, and razor'ed a little slot in the leather near each of these triangles and slid each cut in the boot over them.
- The front and back I can't remember... I think there was either a brace I could drill/tie or more triangles.
- For the tabs that held on the old boot, I broke off any that would've been visible from the top side when reassembled.
Either way, its really in there. Good luck!

I used locktight 2 minutes epoxy,it held fine for like 2 years, till I took the boot out to install the sparco handle and soo the sparco boot is going on too,but good epoxy works good.
