Self install LED footwell lighting
I ordered 2 12in' LED tubes from here
http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini_tubes.htm
Went to radioshack and picked up a crimp set, a 4pack of 18 gauge wire, a bunch of crimp connectors, and a small switch. (there are several places that sell switches that are the perfect fit.)
Next in your car reach down and pull out this panel, just tug it out and down a bit.

It will look like this

Now just press on the back of the black rectangle and it will pop out

At this point if you bought a switch you can skip down to the wiring, if not then proced here.
Basically you need a dremel or drill and drill out just enough space for the switch you bought to slide into place. be extremly careful not to cut too much. If you notice on mine I was using a dremel and acidently scraped my piece a bit.

The LED bars come with cigerette lighter plugs on the end. You can simply cut these off. strip back about 6-8' of the gray wire insalation.
next remove the piece of the center counter around the shifter( there are various guides on scionlife to do this).
This piece contains the lighter, there is a connector attatching it. Simply pull it a little and it will come unconnected.horseshoe connectors fit into these plugs, they are
a fairly secure fit. the flat crimp connectors connect perfectly over the lighter plugs. The crip connectors work on the back of the switch too.
WARINING THE NEXT GRAPHIC IS TERRIBLE.anbody that wants to redo it and email it to me I will fix it.

Pay close attention to the plug sizes, make sure the large plug is wired to the large connector on the ligher.
Oh yeah make sure your car is off if not the battery unpluged for this install.
once its all connected tuck the wires away, and test it. The car has to be on for them to work.
I used velcro for the light on the driver side. on the left the 12' light can be securely wedged all the way back, if you do it right, it will stay there, and you can shine it along the floor and it will look really good.
Heres my finished product.

Nice.... A little too pricey for the look though.... Mine cost me 15 dollars TOTAL.
CC tubes are awesome for light distribution and are cheap as hell....

Same installation technique.... a little different product.
