Side Vents
I popped out my side vents to paint a little while back and snapped the damn things with my own brute strength. I'm looking to replace them from a salvage 2008 model. The guy working there couldn't get them out after 20mins of prying with a detailer tool and a flat head. I didn't want to try in fear that I'd break these as well! He thinks that they are different than what I have, and that it is all one piece, including the vents and lever. Are these parts different from 2005 to 2008? I can go back and try myself he says, but I want to be sure. Supposedly you are to pry it from the bottom with a flat head and slowly pop it out bit by bit moving up the sides.

I'm going back there tomorrow hopefully. So I'm just going to find a way to reach in behind and push the sucker out. Is that all there is to it?
Sucks is that it's sitting outside in the freezing cold.

they just pull out.. The fuse panel thing that is underneeth the vent, the one with a handle, pull that out.. then reach up and just push the vent out of place.. Also if you have buying a whole new vent, i will but the piece you have in the picture. I cut my up to fit my boost guage, and since i got a pillar pod so i need to replace the vent.

yup just pop the drivers side one out by removing the fuse/relay box cover and reaching up and pushing from behind.
If you need to access the passenger side one, just remove the glovebox to access the back side.
