Default Sirius Sat. Radio Q's

I'm getting a new system installed with a Pioneer head unit. I currently have a staremate and I'm thinking about getting rid of the unit and running the sirius from the HU.

Has anyone had both and which do you prefer?

Also where is a good place for the satellite antenna? Seeing as how the roof is glass that's really not a good spot.

Thanks

I had both.
I personally like it better on my HU
because when I had the regular radio it would fall off of my windshield and the antenna you have to put on your roof.
I just wasn't into have wires all over the place.

well the plug an play has better controls and display while the direct connect is cleaner looking and still plays the same music. it really depends on your preference. If it were me I would get the direct connect.

Mine was factory installed and they placed it at the top of the windshield, behind and just to the right of the rearview mirror. Kind of ugly if you look at it, but I never notice it.
