Smaller System?
Ive been doing ALOT of thinking latley about downsizing my system to 1 amp pushing 1 sub and the comps. Ive been thinking about going ALL ED or at least going with the Side Mount SQ 10 Enclosure from ED that fits next to the spare tire. I dont know what amp to go with tho? I dont want anything big but something that can give both the sub and comps some nice power. This is where yall audio nuts come in, what do yall recommend. Im trying to stick with all 1 brand here but then i might want to keep my comps. Let me know!
Current setup-
JL 500/1
JL 10w6v2
JL 300/2
CDT EF-61CFi comps (<--beautiful!)
Main reason, alot of weight on the a$$ of the tC right now. I love my system but i hadly ever turn up the sub loud?

bleh, i'd just stick with what you have now. In the 2 weeks or so that my system has been operational, i notice that i dont really turn it up alot, but hey, the option to do so is always there. I'd rather have too much and not use it than not enough when i want it. Besides, you've already got everything paid for/installed/operational.... why mess with it :-/
Well since you like JL and want a single amp, why not use a 300/4? High-pass stereo on channels 1-2 for the front components and low-pass bridged channels 3-4 to the SQ10. That would plenty of power for the system to get loud, certainly more than enough for SQ, even if the bassheads want more. Remember, halving the power to you sub will only reduce the volume by 3dB.
I'm in the middle of building my system now, using all my ancient "old school" equipment. It's just going to use 2 small amps (Rockford 2600X), with just 40w to each front side from one, and 140w bridged to the sub from the other amp. This is more than enough power to feel the bass and lose your hearing from the mids & highs.

Alpine MRV-F545 will give you 100w into channels 1 and 2 for the comps, then you bridge 3/4 together for a single 350w RMS mono channel for the subs. That's exactly what I'm running, with CDT CL-61s up front, CL6 rear fill off of HU power, and a pair of eD 11Kv2s in the back. I don't miss multiple amp systems, that's for sure.

im in the same position. i have a 12w6v2 that hardly gets bumped so im about to sell it this weekend. i was thinking of picking up a sq10 and tc enclosure.
anybody personally can compare jl and ed? i would like to know how the sound quality of the sq10 will compare to a w6, cuz jl quality is damn good imo.
