speaker help needed!
I was driving to my friend's house the other day and parked by a meter. The stereo was working fine. I wake up and get my car and park to a different spot without a meter so I won't get a ticket. My stereo now has no sound. I tried cds, radio, and my ipod, and none give sound. Normally when I rev my engine and nothing is connected to the ipod jack the speakers background static gets louder and quieter. Nothing is happening at all. No sound or anything. Did I blow a fuse or something? Could someone have f@cked with my amp or speaker wire from outside the car at all? It's 20 degrees out now so I'm not in the best mood to go checking my fusebox unless I have to. Anyone have an idea of what is going on?
My stuff:
Pioneer DEHP3800MP , Alpine speakers (SPS171A & SPS17C2), Alpine sub (SWS1022D), Alpine amp (MRVF450)
I got it installed at abt electronics. One of the speaker wires fell off and was randomly shorting out on my door before, but they fixed that. When that happened the sound would cut out after a certain volume level, but there was still sound. This was just dead. The headunit came on fine and responded properly to everything I did, there was just no sound at all. It has been really frigin' cold lately. Could that have affected the fuses or wiring?

cold shouldn't affect anything at all... sounds to me like there may be a loose wire somewhere... take it back to the installers and make them fix it...
could check your RCA's to see if they're loose. Also, the static being affected by the revving of the engine is a problem either with a bad ground loop or having signal wires (RCA's) too close to your power wire..

Alright, I checked the head unit. Everything was connected fine. I checked the massive fuse that is connected to my battery that goes to the amp. That was fine too. So the only thing I got left to check really is the internal fuses (if there are any) and the wire connections (which seem fine as far as I can tell). The amp is under my seat though, so it's gonna be a pain in the ___. I think I'm going to try calling the place tomorrow and see if I can schedule something.

Well I finally got around to bringing my baby in. Turns out it was the main fuse. Strange thing was, it wasn't broken in the normal way. The ____ing thing separated from the contacts on the inner sides of the filament. The guy there said the fuses aren't made very good and sometimes that happens. So I asked him for a few spares in case it happens again so I won't have to waste their time. He handed some over and went on my way, no charge.
