Default Speaker Making Static Noise

I've got a 2009 TC and the right rear speaker just started making a static noise.

Everything in the car is factory and the noise is loudest with my iPod hooked up. I hear it with Cds, FM, AM -- everything.

I haven't modified anything, the noise just started for no apparent reason.

Anybody know why a factory speaker might do this?

It's probably a setting on the radio. Maybe trebble is too high? I would adjust that or just take it to the dealership, I mean it is a new car and you should be under warranty. Seems like some type of interferrence going on; grounding problems?

I just drove again and there isn't any static. If it happens again I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for the input.

Peace.

Could it have been vibration instead? That's a fairly common situation, and sometimes panel vibration can sound a bit like static. Did the static vary with engine speed, did it get louder or change it's tone? Since it went away, you just might want to consider these things if/when it returns.
