speakers sound so bad... what to do.

Default speakers sound so bad... what to do.

ok so i just put in a pioneer head unit with some Polk db651 speakers. now they sound reall good untill i hit those last knockes of power, then they peak like a mother.... is this because im not running them of an amp.

are you saying that when you turn it up loud it sounds good but hen you wanna go really loud it sonds like ___?


then yes you want an amp

even a small amp will make a differance

Absolutely. Amping the speakers will solve your problems, the stock HU isn't much for aftermarket speakers, even coaxials.

yeah amp them. i tried it out for a month and couldnt stand it. so i got a whole complete system.

yes that is called distortion not the speakers peaking out. It is caused by the crappy amplifier in the radio. Get an amp and if you tune it correctly you should be able to turn it up all the way and it will be clear.

oh yeah and you get what you pay for with amps so don't go cheap you won't be happy.
