Default Started to suede my interior......Updated 1st page installed

took me 15 hours to do the hatch but I got it....I screwed up and got a bad wrinkle in the big hatch piece and had to tear it all off at about 70% complete....really sucked

got the rest of the car to go but I cannot get to the garage to work in the ice and snow and I have to gut the car again to get all the pieces out.

Here is the hatch installed........finally

sorry about the finger prints need to wipe it down....lol

About 20 hours into the headliner, and a good 2-3 hours into each piece......

I hope to never have to do this again in any car.......I still have to reinstall everything this weekend and will post up pictures of the finished product.

I also still have to finish my painting of the visors, and the dome lights, and o crap handles and coat hangers.....

I will say this is not a job to try to take on if you are a beginner,it is hard to do and get expensive very fast, adhesive is about $12 a can and I went through 6 cans....total cost into this project is close to $200 in materials, and about 40 hours.

OK here is the next update.........

thanks guys........it is freaking hard to do that big piece on the hatch....

there are a lot of hard angles and corners and you kinda have to tuck inside out the material to get it to stretch around.I found using a 1/2 box wrench to rub the material down in smal areas at a time kept the wrinkles out on the corners.I enjoyed doing it and hope the rest goes as well.

does anyone know if there are any special clips behind the airbag panels that I need to worry about.I hate to just yank and bust a clip or are they just help in like all the other panels?????

White would look really hot with charcoal accents in the car to go with it.Really you do not touch the panels or liner that much so it should hold up pretty well.

Yeah I never use them,I was gonna cut them out and actually did on the first panel that got scrapped and it did not look very clean.panel actually stays in well just with the clips and no screws.

Hopefully you never have to replace a taillaight bulb, the license plate bulbs, or third brake light. That would suck. Looks nice besides the possibility of having to take it off though.

yes, theres airbags clips, if you dont take the pillars off correctly, youll break the clips, no biggie, you can just buy more from the dealer.

but it is possible to get the pillars off without breaking them, when it comes time, PM me and ill help you out.

WOW! very cool. this is the next mod im doing on my car, but i cannot find white suede material anywhere. the snow is not helping so i cant really go out. i know for accessories you get adhesive glue and then the suede materials but how much suede do you need to get the whole car? the front/rear door panels, hatch, and headliner? TCMemory said about 2x3 yrds for the rear panels and front door panels, but then again i think she said get like 4x4yrds for the whole car?

I purchased 5 yards that was 58"wide by 36" per yard.I have enough left even after my error on the hatch to do the headliner, pillars, and if i cut it right the back side pillar pieces, the big ones behind the rear windows.

I will need more to do the kick panels and doors and rear panels by the seats.A safe bet to do the entire car is 6-7 yards, but buy only enough to do what you need and then if you need more you can always buy more like I am doing.

It is a fairly inexpensive mod to do.the glue is actually the expensive part.I went through a can and a half to do the hatch, figure pillars another can, headliner needs headliner glue or it will end up coming off so that is a differant can.So figure 3-4 cans for the job to do it correctly and make sure you do not under glue it.

Also make sure the suede you get is at least 54" wide.....and even with that you will not have much to wrap it,no room for error. The stuff I got was 58" wide and it really helps to have a little extra to play with.
