steering wheel controls
So recently i've been noticing my steering wheel controls not working (i have the pac sw installed with my kenwood). I notice it works sometimes, and sometimes not, just on and off.
Then in the night time, i noticed that the steering wheel controls were a very dim blue (should be brighter) and when i pressed on any one of the steering wheel control buttons, it gets brighter and when released, back to very dim. then i knew something was wrong.
my gauges, hvac and steering wheel controls were all swapped about a year and half ago and have not caused any problems til now. They were done by me personally. I foll0wed the "swapping steering wheel controls" tutorial here on SL and had no problems.
Could it be the blue plcc2 led in the steering controls are dying and causing it to malfunction with the pac sw to kenwood? OR are the blue leds drawing too much power and short circuiting something?
my gauges and hvac are working perfecting fine, if this info helps.
anybody know anything or have this problem? what's the fix?

this was the post i was following swapping the steering control lights:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...ing+wheel+swap
this is what i think went wrong. the steering controls lights were swapped out PRIOR to the new kenwood headunit and pac sw. i think the pac sw is pulling too much power from the steering wheel controls and i think may have fried it, or not.
if you look at the picture in the tutorial, of the circuit board (3 leds, 1 resistor)
i think the solution now is to change the resistor on the steering wheel circuit board? and to what number resistor??
LED swappers out there, help me. what do you think? im a physical therapist and no where near the field of electrical engineering!
