Default steering wheel radio controls.

just picked up my tc last night. i want to put my radio in. what i am wondering is if the steering wheel controls will still work? or what i need to do to get them to work. someone said that i need to have a radio that has a remote.... has anyone had experience with this??

or my other option is: do the earlier model tc's not have these controls??? can i just get the peice that would go in place of them and remove them??

if anyone has done this let me now

thanks

Most Eclipse headunits have a plug that will mate up with the steering control plug, and wah la steering controls work perfectly!! I have the AVN6600 and the steering controls work fine.

you have to buy the iPOD adapter and it works, I have heard the U/I is pretty easy to use and very nice.

'05 tCs don't have it... i didn't need my controls...

so gave the '05 mine, and i got his.

iPod connections will need an adapter... as well as most HU... few higher end eclipses don't need an adapter, but for the iPod... you'll probably still need it.

my solution: i don't own an iPod. don't have controls.

eclipse is the only one that's really plug n' play for the most part for the controls.. other brands won't have that option.

no need to start new threads about related things. particular question was asked and answered. no need to go further into it.

besides... there are a few other threads that have been made before about simliar questions, yet no one has flamed you for not searching.

it's because of people that keep asking questions/starting threads and wasting the bandwidth making it harder to search... thus why we lock down threads...

as for why the supers and admins just don't delete them? i dunno.

but the answers are out there... it's best if you perhaps pm an individual which can really save on bandwidth and thread space.

no problems... it's hectic and really crowded in this forum.. you already saw the insane amount of results for searching... gotta be patient and take your time.. learn key words to search for, and you'll be fine

oh.. you can pm me if you need anything either... just know that there are dead times when i'm not online and may not be able to respond quickly.
