Default stereo system with stock head unit

i was wondering how a system (two 12"s) would sound using the stock head unit and stock speakers. now i'm using a deck with HPF so i can turn the bass completely down on the stocks so it sounds good (not in a tc). i just don't want to ____ up the tc speakers when i get it. thanks.

I did that for quite a while. I ran a line out converter off of the rear speaker wires on the headunit. I ran 2 12"s for a long time and it worked perfectly. It sounded great, just make sure you change the headunit off of the tC mode for the best sound.

i dunno know bout everybody else, but i didnt like it

i had my amp and 2 12" kickers hooked up to the stock HU
it sounded horrible. the sound from the speakers were lower, and the subs didnt even hit hard.
basically, it sounded better completely stock.

i have a lil sony head unit now, nothin special. but is much better

I hooked up a 12 to stock system. You're gonna want to upgrade the rest of the system when the bass is all you hear or if you leave the bass low enough to hear the rest it'll be a waste of trunk space.

you should upgrade the head unit first.... it's limiting the full potential of the stock speakers.

just adding subwoofers is going to completely drown out the front stage.

i've got a ten inch ported setup in my tc running off of the stock deck and it sounds great. (read my profile for the whole setup) i guess it all has to do with how you set it up. i'm sure it would sound a little better with a better deck, but i like having the steering wheel controls.
