Default stock to aftermarket integration?

I'll have to give some background on this question for it to make sense... maybe someone with similiar experience could lend some advise as well.

I'm trying to integrate an aftermarket amp (to run a sub) in my '08 tC, using my stock headunit. To do so, I've purchased a low level converter. I've tapped into the rear speaker wires (brown/yellow & red/white & grey for the remote wire). I've then hooked up the RCAs to the converter.

I ran a fused power 4g wire from the battery to the the trunk, where the amp is. The amp is grounded underneath the rear seat. The amp IS turning on, I'm reading 12.4v from both the power wire & remote turn-on wire.

However, I have no audio going to my sub. All the connections/settings on the amp appear to be correct (I've installed plenty of systems in the past, but this is my first stock to aftermarket attempt).

Any suggestions from anyone who has done this integration in their tC? I know I have to be missing something obvious. Of course, my RCA's could be bad too... I think I'm going to purchase some during my lunch break - but wanted to see if anyone here had any suggestions I may try aside from a new RCA?

That sounds about right. Im not exactly 100% percent sure, but thats basically what I did when I wanted to get components for my stock hu.

Ever since then, I went to aftermarket hu. I have the hi-low converter if you want it. Ill sell it pretty cheap. Send me a PM

Is the HU on and playing? Have you played with the fade levels on the HU? Have you adjusted the gain on the amp? Have you put the DMM on the RCA's and/or the speaker wires from the HU to see if you have any signal running to them? Have you put the DMM on the speaker outs on the amp itself to check the output?

I'd check all of that as well as have the car running because you should really have more like 13-14 V to the amp.

Car is on, I'm getting a reading of 12.4v. I'm not really concerned about it reading 13-14... at least 12v is good. The headunit playing. The fades are at 0 (balanced between front/back). Gain on the converter is 50%, as is the amp. Speakers coming from the radio harness are giving me 6.2v each @ 20 on the volume. I'm not getting any voltage on the speaker outs on the amp, I'm thinking my issue is @ the front of the car, before I hit the amp.

Any voltage on the RCA's or on the LOC? It seems that your problem has been narrowed to one of these two spots. If they're both good then the amp may be the problem.

I'm not getting a voltage reading out of the LOC (at the input where I'd put in the RCAs). However, I have had this same problem with 2 different LOCs, and I think the odds are very low that both would be bad?

If you're not getting any voltage from the LOC that means that there is no signal coming from the LOC. If you ARE getting voltage from the speaker wires going into the LOC it seems that the LOC is the problem.
