Default stock vs aftermarket cd player!

i just took out my stock cd player a few days ago and put in a JVC. i know JVC is not the best, but the stock speakers sound like crap with the aftermarket cd player. the were really loud and clean with the stock one. has anyone had this problem or is it just that my cd player is cheap crap? so i putting my stock back in untill i put in better speakers.

also, does anyone know of a way to get the stearing wheel controls to work with an aftermarket cd player?

the stock deck has more power .. not like aftermarket decks ... if you want to get some good sound ... either get a amp or pm me for a subplug to boost the stock sound ...

i tried messin with the eq
it helped a little but not much
the aftermarket player gets way louder than the stock one
but its not as clean at even half the volume

i was talking to someone today and they said its less to do with the volume and wattage
but about the ohms and on a stock player and speakers its usually 2 and aftermarkets its 4
i dunno if that makes sense or is true
just what i was told

the stock cd player has different DSP settings that are made to compensate and enhance for the cheap paper cone speakers. The Pioneers that are in the Scions have 3 different settings for the XA, TC, and XB as they all have different layouts and different sized interiors.
Get a better radio and new GOOD speakers. Your radio is just showing the weakness in the speakers

Some ppl have reported that eclipse decks work with fact steering wheels controls... and I believe crutchfield sells some steering wheel control integration adapters... call 'em up and see if your JVC has a plug that'll work

JVC would need to have something like a SWI-X, but if I remember right from work those dont work right with the 06+ Scions, but Im not 100%. The Eclipse decks work well because Eclipse and Toyota have been working closely together and alot , if not most, Eclipse decks are actually toyota harnesses on the back of them! If you wanna do a double din navi unit from Eclipse it will just plug right in to all non-amplifed yotas and Scions. If you wanted to do something other than a JVC, like an Alpine or Pioneer and keep the steering wheel controls just get a a SWI-ALP or SWI-PIO and a radio that has a wired remote input. After that its only 3 wires to hook up and plug in and some programming which is easy

These guys saying you need an amp are wrong. Like someone said above me, the new JVC has different power and impedance levels than those stock paper pieces if crap speakers. Adding an amp will do nothing but make the speakers louder, something that won't fix your problem. Take the JVC back if you can, get a better deck. If you can't, invest in some nice speakers. This is one time where you definitely get what you pay for.

^^^ I never said amp the stock speakers, that'd be pretty senseless..... I suggested new speakers with an amp... new speakers alone would work as well but you wouldn't get the quality or volume you could by adding an amp to the aftermarket speakers as well...
