p me people please!!

i hate my fm transmitter! and when i say hate, i mean everytime it's plugged into my ipod and i'm listening to it in my car, i want to smash it against any surface, and then pick up the pieces and throw those too, and then after that jump on every piece until you can't even tell what it was to begin with!

so you understand how much i hate this thing?

i need something that works, that has cd quality sound, aux plug, maybe even text display. anything...

if anyone has a clue about what i can use to replace that damn fm transmitter.

please please please... tell me!!

My personal setup:

Alpine KCE-422i Fullspeed iPod cable mounted in glovebox

Fast iPod control, no need to ever touch the iPod after connecting it. Charges the iPod, and you can view all the info and control everything right from the face of the head unit.

I have my iPod and SIRIUS hooked up to this HU. Sounds incredible!! For a little over $200 I don't think you can go wrong with this set-up. I used to have THIS, but I sold it to get the new HU. In fact, the aux. adapter is only $30 cheaper than the HU. Better off with a new HU IMHO.

 

I also have the CDA-9857
The text display is well worth the extra cost.
(It give you two lines of text on a 'digital' screen).

Go with the CDA-9856 or CDA-9857 or make sure (if you are getting an Alpine) that it has the same search feature the CDA-9856&7 has. I've owned previous generations of Alpine HUs. If you want to scroll through the playlists, you'll find it to be a pain because it lags and you end up over shooting.

i think i paid around $200. it plugs into the back of your stock radio and connects directly to your ipod. now i can control my music from my radio, steering wheel and ipod. woo hoo!

so i'm loving my music now!!

I just burn the music to a cd MP3 style. Cds are cheap nowa days anyway and hold quite a bit of music as files not songs.

 

that makes sense as well. but, then again changing cds in your car can be a biatch

 

Glad you found a solution. But for that amount of $crill, I would have updated the HU. The iPod is only as good as the HU it plays through. Congrats though.
