sub/port placement
what do you guys thinks sounds the best on the tc?
having the sub and port rear to the back of the car, down to the floor, front to the seats, or up firing to the window?
what are your opinions

Mine is a sealed box and it's under the trunk floor firing up and it sounds great.
I've had subs in a seald box that pointed forward thru the back seat of my old SE-R and that gave it a good tight sound.
I've also had a sub pointed down in a custom sealed fiberglass enclosure in a previous truck.
My 4Runner had three subs mounted upside down (with the polarity reversed) on top of a ported box and the ports were pointed back towards the rear window (the 4Runner's rear window slides down into the tailgate). That kicked so hard it cracked my windshield.
I've never had any good experiences with subs that point backwards in other previous vehicles. I've seen other setups in tC's with the subs pointed backwards, but I've never heard their sound.

For the best SQ and SPL, place it near a "boundary layer". In a car, that implies a corner would be best, or on a panel next to the corner. Whether it's firing up at the rear window or down at the floor, the closer to the corner it is the better the output will couple with the air inside the car. The next best placement would be close to a corner, with the output (sub & port) firing into the corner, which is one reason why a sub in the hatch firing toward the rear sounds better than if it were pointed at the front of the car.
Optimal placement varies a bit across vehicle types, so it's always best to test in different locations with the owner present, such that they can determine what's best for themselves.
