Default Subs for the tc

Ok I want to install subs on my tc to get some bump, not the prob is that I am way more about performance then anything else but sicne this car is also my daily driver I d like some bass for the music. The thing is I dont want something huge and heavy I mean I am tryign to make my car faster not add more weight to it with huge boxes. So the question is what are my choices, I know bazooka makes a sub for it and so far I am rpoly goign to go with that it seems light weight has to add at least some bass and its self powered. So is there anything better then this or is this my best bet? If anyone has the bazooka sub how does it sound? Ofcourse I dont expect it to sounds like a 1600 watt sub from JL

I have the Audiobahn version. 10" sub with 100W RMS. It doesn't take up much room and I think it sounds better than the factory option. They make from 6.5" sub versions up to 12" sub, both amplified and unamplified.

more options are here:

I hear some people also have had some success with the Infiniti Basslink.

The best sub for the money is not made anymore, and it's a shame. It's the JL Micro Sub, it comes in 8". It is very small and hits VERY well. It's what I use in my system and people think I have a couple 12s back there and then I show them and there jaw drops.

I can 100% say you will love this sub, I don't know how you wouldn't... unless you trying to impress people 3 cars over.

First off, the OEM bazooka sub sucks and is a waste of $$$

If you want a quality sub for a good price I also recommend audiobahn. I'm rockin 2 10s and I love em. My boy is a distributor for audiobahn and has done many installs for many happy customers with audiobahn equipment.

U could go with an Audiobahn bass tUBE, although I'd really recommend a single 12 or even 10 in a small sealed enclosure. U won't even need that much power to push it since u aren't lookin for SPL.

The bass tube solution is easier and cheaper, but you won't have as much headroom as u would with a nice sub in a .65-1 cu ft sealed enclosure...aka sometimes you'll want to turn the bass UP, and the bass tube won't play as loud as u want it to. Also Sound quality is much better with nice sub enclosure.

I have two MTX Thunder 8" in a ported box with a rather small Eclipse amp... with my soundproofing, they are louder than anyone would need for a daily driver...

My rear seats still fold back with my box... and if you built it with the right material... it'd be decently light... Think a nice birch

if your going for audiobahn
i have 2 15 inch alumQ's to get rid of....
the sound quality is great....
but its just not what im going for...
and as far as loud..
i powered it with a 4 foot 2400 w high current dual power visonik amp
put them in my buddys blazer once..
tuned em and turned em up once.. (never do that again)
its blew all three back windows...and pushed the front windshield right out and onto the hood...
thats something ive never seen before.
lots of pressure.
pm me for a price
or offer me a price
thanks!!!

I agree with the JL Micro box and 8w0....it'll get the job done....any JL subs that are in a JL ported box will sound great a beat rather well.....

Would I be able to buy a 8 inch w7 and buy their small box? would that work/ sound good/not add substantial weight or take up too much space?

The 8w7's are fairly heavy....but it would sound GREAT and poud very hard for an 8".....if you did get the 8w7, get the H.O. Wedge enclosure for it that is made by JL.....that will give you the best output...

The HO wedge is a ported enclosure which is why it's bigger....but you'll get a little better spl from it.... If you're not going H.O., I would suggest a custom fiberglass

That one would only weigh in around 7 pounds

Trying to get them into production now, so if you need bump right away, unfortunately wouldn't work.

The words lightweight and W7 do not belong in the same sentence. They're nice...and definitely awesome subs, but anti-lightweight.

ic lol, so is there anything you guys would recomend whats the most that I can get out of lightweight and small sub(about the size of the dealer one) like company and sub size and stuff, keep in mind i know little to none about stereos I just drove in a few peoples cars with subs (w712 & another with 2 w3 12) pretty awesome, I dont expect to sound like them obvisouly their systems are huige and wayyyyy too heavy.
