Subwoofer!
Hey guys, this is my first post in this forum, i come from Yoursciontc.com.
I have an '07 TC MT that is n/a atm.
My question is, im lookin into getting a sub for my TC and just wanted to know what you guys recommended. I dont want something that makes dave mathews sound like mike jones because of how much bass is put into it. But i want to be able to show it off at times and bump, and at other times listen to some jack johnson or the backstreet boys (just kidding) with out having to much bass. My friends car has a 1000W amp with 2 12'' subs and one of those canister things in the back forget what their called. But it just puts out way to much bass, but sounds good when your listening to rap. IM just looking for something that has some juice to it, but not bad on the wallet.
Im looking to purchase (at the moment) one of those subs with the preinstalled amps that is about 300W. Just wanted to hear your opinion and what route i sohould go. (by the way im not looking to spend more than $400

Are you keeping the stock deck and speakers? If so you should give this a look

I ended up getting this even though I already had a rockford amp and JL12W0 in a box not being used....why? because I wanted the wired remote to be able to control the sub from the front of the car, and also because the JL would really be too much for the stock speakers to keep up with....if you are listening to a wide range of music being able to control the gain from up fron is very important.
after some tweaking I found that using the SSP on feel with the bass set to -5 sounds by far the best for most types of music....with the gain set about 1/4 of the way up....I also plugged the port with some foam...
you won't be shaking your mirrors off with this setup, but it will give you what's missing from your stock setup....I will admit that at first I was dissapointed because I had about $1500 worth of audio in my last car....but now a week later I couldn't be happier with my decision.

you definitely can get thump without 1000w of power.. sheesh.. even 300w can give you good thump. i guess 1000w is a good way to get a hearing aid at a young age.. eh? what did you say? lol..
I've heard good things about Infinity's basslink..
check out crutchfield.com
i usually stay away from anything bazooka makes.. never was happy with their stuff..
kenwood would probably be good too.. depends on how much you can spend the kenwood is like $250.. and infinity is like $299..
here's the infinity http://www.crutchfield.com/S-OXsxTDm...0&I=108BASSLIN

If you want nice, tight, clean bass-go with this...

Its relatively small so it won't take up all the room in the hatch. Its only $150. (There is literally no difference between the 8" and 10", so save yourself the $30.) I ordered mine through Crutchfield and it came super quick! If you do get this, get better RCA cables. The included ones aren't very good. This Sub rocks! My gf doesn't like it because she said it produces too much bass. You can stand outside the tC and hear the bass, it just won't rock the neighborhood. Whch is what I wanted. DMB sounds awesome!

i was considering that kenmore one. Anyone have any feedback on it, it looks like a pretty nice combo. Also wanted to know how hard is the install for someones hwho has never done it before. I know you gotta start somewhere but, just watned to knw.
If you are first timer I would recommend getting some help, it's not that hard, but you will need the proper tools....and please make sure to get the subplug2....otherwise you have to splice into your rear speaker wires and that is not only not a good idea, it would be a huge pain in the ****...
basically you need to take apart the area surrounding your deck which is really easy, just a couple screws and bolts and your radio is out...to get the center console loose enough to run the RCA and remote is just two bolts.....the biggest pain for me was getting through the firewall to run the power from the battery...all said and done it took about an hour and a half to two hours...

the decision to go with a pre-powered sub is not a bad one, i am actually considering it as well. what you havta remember with the tC is that it's a hatchback... you don't have to send 1000 watts through the trunk and into the passenger area
I need help... My stock stereo is hooked up to my 2 10" JBL subs with 1200wat amp. all installed by cartoys. When am sitting it sounds fine and when i start moving the bass gets a lot louder and doesnt sound too good. but if am sitting and hit the gas in park or neutral the bass doesnt change so i thought it might be a power problem but am not sure now. I need help on what is going on. Does Scion stock stereo have a road noise inside the stereo or is it the battery, alternator, not enough power or what???? Someone help....
i think you should look at the infinity basslink 2. its an easy add-on and already powered so no need for a seperate amp. check out ebay for a good price. infinity subs are good for rock since they are more towards sq than spl.
