Default Subwoofer box carpet from Crutchfield

Has anyone bought this stuff?

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_060CBLK...t.html?tp=1087

I'm just curious on how close it is to the stock carpeting in color and texture.

Haven't tried that, but the price seems high to me.

I'd bet it's the same as you can get in the following link;
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=261-700
But at PE the price is much better.

You can also find the same stuff in 3'x6' rolls at most auto parts stores for around $15.
This is what I used on my sub box and I'm pleased with the results.

None of them are an exact match for the tC in color or texture, but they're close enough at a glance.

i would definitely go with PE. crutchfield is a ripoff, and last i checked, their carpeting is about the same stuff PE sells anyway.

That first link is more expensive than Crutchfield. It's about $52 for the amount Crutchfield has for $30. The Crutchfield roll is 54" wide (I need at least 50" wide) X 9' (think I need about 5-6', not 100% sure).

And the Autozone by me didn't have any, neither did a local speaker store (he only had 2'x40" left, nowhere near enough).

I went ahead and just ordered the Crutchfield roll last night. I just figured I'd ask to find out if anyone used the same stuff. I'm more concerned about it matching than the price.

Whoops, did feet and not yards. And even still, it's more expensive because it's not wide enough. I would need to buy 5 yards of it, and at that point, I can't waste anything, so 6 yards to play it safe.

I have used this carpet on my first instll in the tc.

It is like a heavy felt texture, Fairly close to the hatch sidwall texture, (not perfect though) the carpet is a little "fluffier"

It did look a little darker than the stock fabric but almost to an unnoticable degree

My opinion is that it matched pretty well, probably as good as anything your going to find

the only thing i dont like about it is that when you try to vacuum it, the fibers unravel a little and the texture changes, but you can actually cut the "stretched" fibers off to make it look like it did new
