subwoofer enclosure
how easy is it to make a stealth subwoofer enlcosure like the from edesign audio, i was thinking of maybe making two, one on each side of the tire if possible please help
Making an enclosure for the passenger side like the eD stealth isn't difficult, but you'll need a shallow-mount sub because there isn't much depth, and the sub will also need to operate in just 0.5' of airspace. If you use the same sub as eD (SQ10), then this shouldn't pose any issue.
As for the other side, good luck, even if you can get a 10" in there, you're not going to have enough airspace for the sub. That side would also likely have to be fiberglass, as it'd be VERY difficult if not impossible to do the required curves using wood. Wiggle board could work, but it'd need reinforcement to keep from resonating, which would just decrease the available enclosure volume that much more.

Find the thread about them by mandos (Chris). If you're capable of building such an enclosure, how to do it should be readily apparent by simply looking at the box. However, in the thread he also stated things like construction material (3/4" mdf, btw), and from the pictures (incl. from people who've installed them in their car) you can get a good idea of what you'd need to do.
A basic overview might be as follows;
use the styrofoam storage tray as a template to trace onto wood for the bottom of the enclosure. The top piece will be similar to this, but may require some trimming to clear some of the truck trim pieces. Build a rectangular frame for the sides of the box, which you then secure the top & bottom pieces to (however you'd like, I use wood glue gel and coarse-thread drywall screws after pre-drilling the holes). Considering the depth ( or height, depending on your perspective) of the stock styrofoam storage is 5", if you use 3/4" mdf for the top & bottom, you can understand the sides can only be 3.5" high, if you're looking for a flush floor (stock height). Of course you'll also want to flush mount the sub in the enclosure so that it doesn't stick up out of the enclosure and raise the floor height.
Find the thread in the ICE forum and see if that answers any additional questions you might have. I decided to put a rack in that place (containing 2 amps and 2 processors - thread coming soon) instead of a sub, but that's just me. Good luck!

thanks man, ima do some more research, might seem like a little project to some, but for me this is big, i was wondering why couldnt u just reinforce the inside of the styrofoam with somethiing and place a sub on top, but i guess thats a dumb idea, but anyways im still looking thanks
