oh nonono, this has nothin to do with the tC.

I was just referencing spl potential setups. This was in a crown vic and the back seats could not fold down so a lot of restrictions. Box was tuned to peak at 31hz.

But remember one thing though i was running street b so i had to have the car off. If i was running it with the correct burp tone and the car on, I'm pretty sure i could have done better than 140.5

I can find out the Fs of the tC but you must realize that the frequency will change based on which direction the sub AND port are facing and how much room is there for air to travel between the sub and cabin area. The amount of power may change it as well although that's only in VERY high wattage output scenarios.
Sound Deadening will effect Fs just like constant rattling may change it as well.

It'll be a while before i get mine tested because my head unit is on backorder apparently for literally a month.... so i have no way of hooking an amp up yet.

Oh, and i'm trying to get the best possible setup i can think of in the hatch and am running into space issues, hehe(ironic), so you wont see the dimensions of the box i'll be wanting to use until i find it as well.

ok i just got metered at my buddies shop with the brand new termlab. i got a 134.1 (car running all sealed off). so i guess i was wrong guessing 138. but it's not bad for 1 ten. i'm going more for SQ anyway as i have an SQ targeted subwoofer. i was just curious so i tried it. this was done on a 20-60hz sweep and i was pushing all the clean power i could out of my amp.

Not to shabby...
In theory we have a 6db difference that would make be 4x as loud as you! lol

with the 12" RE SX I had it was 139db@42hz, this time for this 140.5db@approx 44hz. (Mind you that the car was off during this run)!

i thought that 10db's was perceived to sound twice as loud.

well, still havent posted an image because there are mulitple setups i can go with... tell me what u guys think-

The dimensions of use are(external)-
12" high 42" wide 19,25" deep
I cant go no higher than 12" if i want to get that 42" wide. And the 19.25" deep so that would leave a 5" gap between the subs and the hatch door.

Anyways- Some of that box space has to be cut out due to space for an extra batteryand all amps are gonna be stacked on top of the box.

Here are the setups that CAN work-
3 Q 10s Sealed 4,000w amp
2 BL 10s ported 34hz 3,000w amp

What you think?
Or... you think i have another option with dimension proof? I'd like to see other designs.

I've seen plenty of installs on this forum and cardomain but most designs are in the wrong box sizes.

Remember, this isn't just for me but for everyone here. I'm looking for the "best in theory" setup that can keep the factory look if needed to remove later.

If 3,000w or less, need room for box, Mono amp, 1 4 channel amp.
If over 3,000w, room for box, mono amp, 1 4 channel amp and an HC1800 or HC2400 if 4,000w.

With your dimension, it looks like before displacement 4.31cuft. Look into if 17x40x17 will work for you, before displacement that is 5.35cuft. Going that route with a bigger box you can do 2 12" and be very loud with a 3k amp....

thats what urs is isnt it? I believe you removed your spare tire and all that because it is impossible to get that height after 11.5" deep from the back of the seat.

yeah I took out the spare tire. I made the box only 14" tall instead of 17" so I can still use that factory trunk cover thing.

see i would do that.... since we have road side assistance and all, but if i ever did get a flat, i cant vision my car rolling up a wrecker and sittin there on the rim all that time. I gotta have my spare with me.

Here is the final setup i can think of, 2 choices-

3 10" Fi Q's SEALED off of a 4,000w amp or...
2 10" Fi BL's PORTED at 34hz off of a 3,000w amp.

Pick...

1 15" ported? LOL

If that is all you got, I would do the 2 10" ported...unless you want to do 2 12" ported!

i wish i could do more but i can't according to what i'm seein.

The only way of installing 12s or 15s keeping the spare and all that where it is, is to face them up toward the glass and the port back facing the rear bumper.

The problem that i forsee with that design is i still need room for an HC2400, 2 amps, 30band EQ and 3way active crossover.

The issue lies on all that equipment being placed in front of that port... eventually something is gonna get damaged from vibration sitting in front of the port all the time and will affect the sound as well.

Cant mount any equipment on the right hand side under the carpet because it would burn up. no ventilation.

It's not if i want 12s or 15s, hehe, if i could i'd run 10 18" BTLs off of 20 Opti4000Ds and all Kinetik batts but where in God's name would i install that at keepin it stock, hehe

PS... can you imagine 10 18s off of 80,000w of power? gimme some bass tracks!

I'm lookin for someone who has some 12s so i can see if i can wedge them up under the hatch within 5" from the hatch door. Nobody i know has 12s, figures...

Thanks for suggestion though, i'm workin on possible box dimensions later, gonna go see Spiderman 3.
