If you have subs in your tC, does your trunk rattle?

 

theres a good chance that your license plate will rattle if you dont dynamat it. and hell, our hatch rattles even without a system, but since i dont have a system, i cant give you first hand results.

 

Mine rattles to the point where the tail light squeaks.

 

A video would be nice if possible! =)

Some might say I just don't have enough bass but honestly with the system I run, I imagine if there was a rattle to be heard, I'd hear it. No, I have yet to put any sound deadening in my car, my license plate is simply bolted on firmly and I have no rattles. Then again, my baby's only about 1 month old so everything is still pretty factory fresh.

In time I'll recheck the license plate, that's always been the first thing I hear on cars that starts to rattle with bass.

 

im with chapman about the tail lights sqeeking too. my hatch isnt too bad on its own. after i put some sound deadener on my license plate it helped a bit. but what i realized what was rattling the most was the heat shield under my car. it rattles quite bad when my music hits hard.

 

I had the heatshield rattle, but it rattled all the time so I drilled it off. No other rattles, but I only have the single 10.

 

Mine rattles sometimes...

 

i have 2 kicker comp 10's and i hear very little to no rattle inside the car, even when its turned up. i have no sound deadening or anything. but when outside, you can hear the license plate rattle but not significantly.

but i havent had my stereo in for very long, maybe a month or two, so all of my seals are still pritty new, well have to give it time to see.

 

hey dr. isotope, hows driving without the heat shield? is it safe to drive without it?

 

Well, I put in a Termo-tec mat to replace it.

i have two 12" and they hit pretty hard and i dont hear any rattle. it seems like all the bass in confined in the car and not outside. sounds really nice. :D

 

^ i found the same thing with mine. i thought i would be getting more rattle, but other than the license plate (which was easily fixed) i don't hear anything distracting like some of the cars i've heard. good job scion!

for someone seeking to be competitive with their bumps, a stock tC will obviously not hold up. however, i would never subject my tC (or my ears) to such abuse. my 10" sub hits hard enough when it has too, enough to give me a headache and ringing ears. anything more would be excessive for my daily driving needs

Trust me, I've been completely content with a single 8W0 on about 200W in my tC.

I just use the stupid large system for impressing people.

 

this booger here will rattle your socks off

and rattle the license plate, tail lights squeaks, moon roof rattles and flops up ever so slightly, C pillar covers rattle, any thing else that can be easily move it will rattle

 

I have 1 JL 12" with about 300watts going to it and it barely ever rattles.. Not the loudest system but it use to rattle the hell out of my eclipse.

When I had a license plate frame it would rattle really bad on the outside, but I removed that and it sounds very clean now.
