well most fabric stores sell lentgh by yard or foot. But the height is usually 5 feet. So i got 7 feet. Meaning a 7x5. Im too lazy to measure it right now but, wen i did, it was like 2 1/2 by 1.75 feet. So basically u can get 6 feet worth. But its always a good idea to buy extra. and u said order? I wouldnt recommend ordering fabric online if you want a good color match. Pictures are decieving sometimes. Go to Jo-anns.

Also we mightaswell turn this thread into show off your door panel mid sections! lol Im almost done with mine. Dremeling the plastic welds are fun, exept some peices almost went up my nose. peace

i'm in the process of doing it now. i ripped off both door panels. my questions is - once i lay down the suede, i can't seem to put the thing back in the door panel right. i screwed int he 4 screws, but what did you guys do for the plastic welds? how did you get it to stay down? do i need to glue it?

-Lovnmytc- do it yourself, u can find imitation leather at any fabric store, they actually look and feel pretty goood, i was going to do leather, but eh. Suede is more uncommon. and do it yourself. u wuld save alot of money as opposed to getting it done at some shop.

-toeveryhour- howd u get the plastic welds off? u dremeled it right? then it should be smooth and even easier to drill. All u do is buy the right size screw and drill it in. simple as that. BUT on the outer part of the door panel, (IE if it is the driver door panel, the left side) there is the tab that has 4 plastic weld spots, BUT the tab is so thin if u drill a screw, it will come thru the other side.. On that side thers nothing else u can really do exept glue. I used gorilla glue. Just a small drop and it dried around the plastic weld. Pretty much acted as a weld itself. Very sturdy.

Anyway if theres any1 local. I could do it for people. small fee lol.

i'm doing my A/B/C/Headliner all in Pleather/Leather (Black) because I think I'm already bordering on 'too much suede'

toeveryhour what color suede did you get? I was going to do white suede but couldnt find any. So I did a white Cf style vinyl fabric instead.

THANKS!! I am still kinda lost about what yall are talking about, but I guess when I start taking it apart I will see. So what tools are necessary other than a drill and gorilla glue?

I'm gonna put the door panels back together tonight after work. Hopefully will have pics by tomorrow night. I can only imagine how long of a process the whole headliner is going to be...

well nothing will work. i'm afraid to go the screw route incase i go through the panel, so I guess the only thing I can do is go to a plastic welding shop and have them just do it.

never again. sueding the door panels is ridiculous. if i knew it was going to be this much trouble, i would have never even started.

I did the screw route and the panel stays on fine. You wont go trhough the panel because the plastic welds are raised. So small screws and washers should work fine for you. Only part that wouldnt work is the 3 side welds where it is real thin. I didnt even put any screws there, there is enough tension from the others to hold it in place. If you have any questions feel free to pm me. like I said I did vinyl on my doors.

old but to show you what I did

well, i ended up going over a buddy's house last night.

needless to say it's fixed... but still. what a PIA.

After 2 hot glue sticks, a candle, and many, many pens, it's sealed. lol.

I put on the one door panel this morning before work.

I guess I'm not overly thrilled with this mod.

I still believe it was a waste and I just shouldn't have done it.

Oh - and to the guy that made that DIY video on YouTube - you suck. lol
