Suggested length for Power and RCA Cables?

Suggested length for Power and RCA Cables?
Assuming Power cable is routed along the driver's side (per Mandos' How-To) and amp or amps are mounted on either driver or passenger side in the truck, approximately how many feet of power cable is needed to install an amp in the tC?
How about RCA's??? Is 12 ft enough or would I be better off with 16-20'?
