Default sunroof sunshade

has anyone had any problems w/their sunroof sunshade staying completely closed. i had an '05 for 2 yrs and never had a problem and i bought an '08 in mid july and have taken it back twice all ready and now it is doing it again.. on the driver side it doesn't completely close which causes the shade to sag... in all i have taken the car back 4 times because of this problem and the dealership doesnt seem to now what they are doing..i will try to get a picture of the problem up today or tomorrow

Have you tried another dealer yet?

I don't think I ever use mine though. I think it's only been closed maybe 3 times since I got the car 2.5 yrs ago.

Everyone is going to have problems with it simply because the material for the shade is soooo thin it will bunch up . As for the snagging that is also because it is thin . When u pull back on that plastic peice to pull the shade back it isnt thick enough so its like you were pulling on a plastic bag !!

i bet toyota will offer in the future a part "update" for the 08's as it sounds like the supplier didn't put a strong enough return spring into the shade roller.

maybe your dealer could install the 06 part into your 08, then it would work correctly.
