Default Switching to ED SQ10 Stealth Setup

I want to buy the SQ10 stealth enclosure package. (I want to fit my golf clubs and other things in the trunk)

I am running a Pioneer 5700 DVD unit, stock speakers, then I have an
Infinity Reference 611a Monoblock amp, powering 2 12" Infinity Reference subs.

I'm no expert, but im almost positive the SQ10 sub won't be able to handle my Infinity amp. I would like to keep my amp though if at all possible, do I have any options to make it work.

If there is absolutely zero options, what amp will you recommend to power the eq10 subwoofer. I've heard many people using the Alpine amp with it. (If I must buy an amp, it will be from Ebay)

i have 611a too,
Why do you think your SQ 10 won't be able to handle it?

The amp will be fine as long as you adjust the gain so that you are not pushing the sq10 beyond it's limits.

DO NOT buy the ED SQ10. It is a terrible sub. I have one and it blew after only having it for 2 months. ED refused to admit a defect and attributed it to the fact it was hitting the top piece of the mat in the trunk.

Funny they say that considering it was in an ED custom box that is SUPPOSED to fit in that little trunk space. They made me pay $75 to have it fixed.

Terrible customer service.

lay off. let him do what he wants. eD does NOT HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. the company is growing too fast for its own good. our sub blew for a reason.... i dont see why the hell u would pay 75 bucks to fix a sub that cost 70 brand new... and i dont see eD doing that, ive dealt with them a bit over the past year, a couple RMA deals as well, and NEVER have they not spent the time i needed until i was satisfied.... yes, they may be a little slow now due to the massive growth in the company, but telling someone not to buy their equipment b/c of your bad encounter isnt right. also, its not a terrible sub, perhaps in your application it didnt work well but that doesnt attest to the post made above

oh and by the way, that enclosure is made to fit under the mat beside the spare... if everything is installed as intended... that woofer does not have enough excursion to hit the mat, therefore it was overdriven. not installed properly or other parts of your vehicle have been tampered with to inhibit the "blowing" of the sub

whats the amp rated @ 4 ohms? it should be rated at less wattage at a higher impedance. get a s4, and just set the gains correctly. theres a tutorial on icix on how to do so with a multimeter setting to voltage to equal the wattage. also, eventually look into upgrading your components. set your eq flat, bass 0, use the non-fade/sw to control the sub, crossovers around 80hz for hpf and lpf and all bassboosts off. should sound pretty decent. hell u could always get a nine.4, or any 4 channel amp for that matter, 300/4 or the like. run your front stage off the front two channels and bridge the rear channels to the sq10.

I had a hard time tuning mine this week.......once I got 250 w going to it I was clipping signal at higher volumes.......but then I found out I had to set my eq inthe head unit to flat response and then it worked fine......it was set at +2.........clean sound to it.........I do have a rattle in the taillight, and the side panel and floor panel, but can fix with the v4 edead I bought to space the panels.........

I like the sub.........not over the top on bass but good clean sound for the size........their comps are really harsh onthe tweeters.........man I need to go active to tune them in better......LOL

I listen to Metallica and stuff like that so the sub fills in and adds just enough punch to the sound........their mids are very nice sounding and seem to take all the watts I can put to them......

I am sure i will blow this sub up in time......but for $70 it is not a worry.........and I have my trunk for everything still........

i was thinking about just getting the box and taking a router to it to make a pioneer 10" fit. i think its a little bigger in total outside diameter, at least thats what i'm told. what i don't know about is the height of the pioneer. does anyone know if this will be a problem?

sorry but one more thing. if there is a better thin sub out there for 200 or less let me know. i like to keep my stuff hidden thats why i want the stealth box and stuff. i go to some pretty iffy places sometimes and i like it if people can't see what i got.

And I won't lay off because I'm sick of seeing everyone on this forum sing the praises of this crappy company. They never return phone calls, are slow on shipping, and when their sub blows they blame it on improper installation.

It's not rocket science to put the box in the trunk space and put the mat over it. Yet when the sub blows they won't admit it was a defect and blame it on over powering, or the sub hitting the mat. Complete bull____.

And the $70 is the total cost of me paying them to fix it, plug me having to pay to ship it to them.

I ordered a SQ10 during the preorder special eD had when they released it. I didn't get around to installing it for a few months and when I did, something was wrong with it and it made a very loud rattling noise.

I emailed eD that day, and the next day, without even sending mine back, they sent a new sub out and said they would send UPS or Fedex to pick up the old one.

Now that's great customer service in my book and I'll recommend eD to anyone.

so i ordered one of these bad boys and everythings good to go just waiting for the enclosure to come. So for people who have this already, did you have to do any modification so that the floor/carpet sitting on top of the sub doesn't rattle or hit it?

Ed does not have bad customer service. They answer all my e-mails promptly and I asked them a lot of questions. They are just expanding very quickly right now so there might be lag in production.

Thats nice. When I asked Mandos on the forums some questions I waited for 2 WEEKS and never heard back from him. So finally gave up on him and called ED. After waiting 2 days to get a return phone call I finally called back again and was actually able to get some questions answered.

After making a $700+ order it took them 2 weeks to ship it. 2 WEEKS! And everything was in stock too. After it was shipped they wrote the incorrect weight on one of the packages (incorrect by over 100lbs) thus causing EXTREME delays in shipping.

After 3 weeks I finally received my order, however it was incomplete. They did not ship me a fuse. So I had to wait ANOTHER WEEK to get a fuse shipped to me.

After all this I finally got the system in the car and got it running. After only 2 months the sub blows and I call them and say it was a defect. They REFUSE to do anything about it, saying that their subs only have a 0.01% failure rate. I call bull____ but they won't replace it and want me to pay almost $70 to get it fixed.

After reading on these forums now, I can pick out at least 3 other people that got a DOA sub, INCLUDING YOU.

ED SUCKS and I will never buy from them again. I will also make sure everyone else knows what crappy customer service they have.

then make your own thread about how eD sucks. Ive bought eDead about 2 yrs ago with no problem, more eDead about a year ago with no problem, bought 2 amps about a year ago aswell with no problem. recieved 1 of those amps with the "elemental design" logo on top slightly scratched, emailed them and had a new one within 3 days and told me to keep the other damaged one. bought a sub and custom box with no problem. no shipping problems, no problems with getting in contact with them. Your going to get some problems with small companies growing like eD and obviously your not understanding that. Dont knock their products for their price tho, you really cant complain about that.

I had to put a piece of v.4 on the top of the box in the corner as my floor was tapping it .......tap is now gone.........bass is nice and clean with 250w.......I under stand I can put more to it but I found no reason.......no clipping.........nice solid sound.........nice sub setup........plus I like how every one is wondering where the sub is.....
