Are there RCA INPUTS on the back of the stock deck?
I am trying to hook up my Sirius receiver. When I go through the input in the center console I get really bad alternator whine through the speakers. I bought a radio shack ground loop isolator but it just changes the noise from a whine to a buzz.
I was thinking I'd try to go in through RCA inputs if the deck has any. Does anyone know if this is an option? I am fed up as this Sirius radio was a gift with a 1 year subscription and I can't use FM modulation because I can't find any clear stations that do not have any signal on them.

I actually haven't tried that yet... I wonder if it would be subject to the same noise as I'm getting now? Also, I forgot to mention that even if I unplug the power from the Sirius receiver but leave the aux input plugged in, the noise remains.
Does that wired FM adapter still allow you to listen to the regular radio through the antenna as well? Sorry, I'm not familiar with these devices.

I looked at it again and it looks like I answered my own question...
By the way, the reciver I have is the Sirius ONE which I plan on mounting in the hole beneath the stereo. The receiver has an Audio out, which is the 3.5mm mini-jack, and also a FM out which is a 2.5mm plug. What is that one for?

You don't need that modulator, you could just try this. I didn't have any trouble using the built-in FM modulator, but I wasn't happy with the quality, so I tried the wired adapter. It didn't make any difference in quality, but it should eliminate any outside interference.
If you want to wire it directly into the head unit you can buy a USASpec DF-TOY aux input adapter for $59.99 at Circuit City. It plugs into the CD changer input and has two sets of inputs. I did that and I have a little whine right now, but once I stop using the cigarette lighter and hard wire the power to the Sirius receiver it should go away.

That's perfect! But every place has them on backorder :-/ I guess I'll have to wait.
As a side note, I went out to my car at lunch today and plugged in JUST the cable with nothing attached to it into the AUX port in the center console and it made that terrible alternator whine noise. Something is ****** up with the Scion input I guess.
