Default Is there a shorter shift for an automatic?

I've searched but failed...

I'm noob at technical terms, but is there a shorter shift for an automatic? I find the shift long and really want it shorter. I was thinking of cutting the shift to a desired length and put on a shift **** with allen screws. Will that be a good idea?

Please help! Thanks!!!

I just think that the long shift is kinda odd looking. I want it short just for the looks because we dont really hold on to it that much compared to a manual. Well, i guess that answers my question. cut and rethread, or i'll just find a shift **** with allen screws.

Thanks! :D

I wish mine were shorter, too. My brother's RSX has a really nice and short one, it makes the tC gear change feel rather fragile in comparison.

^ you mean it wasnt stock that height? i guess ripping a part the interior so much and putting it back together you kinda lose the sight of how it looks stock and just keep spinning.

yea, then when ppl get into your car they start messing around thinking its in neutral and start shaking it side to side. IMO, i dont like the boot. I like my method.....just keep spinning...just keep spinning....

uhh... you must've gotten the older shift **** model with the plastic insert instead...?

that's not gonna work with the newer ones...

though your first pic seems much higher than what it should've been in the first place.
