Default Those with Stock Scion Security...simple question...

Hey all, I'm wondering about the Scion Security System. I was wondering what options that security system provides. How equivalent is it to your standard Clifford/Avital/Viper alarms?

Oh, and another thing. I've seen some Toyotas that BEEP when you lock/unlock them. You know, instead of the horn going off once/twice? Does the Scion Security System beep or honk? Or neither? Thanks folks!

Aftermarket alarms are only as good as their installers it seems to me.

I have Compustar and am very happy with it. I've sold a lot of the Scion alarms and everyone is happy with them as well.

The thing you get with the "factory" alarm is that no one can't point fingers at anyone else if there is a service issue.

Lastly: If you're in Phoenix call Tom @ Listen Up! Car Audio. Does great work.

the factory alarm is poop. came standard on my RS3 prolly because scion wanted to sell a false sense of security with the upgraded A/V package. 2 weeks ago my car was broken into via the rear passenger window, and one of my headrests were stolen. after the initial shock, the first thing i did was check if the alarm was set...it was. damn thing never went off. my bedroom window is 30 feet from my car, and ever since basic training, the slightest sound wakes me up. i heard nothing... but when my boy basses next to my car when its armed, the damn thing screams at me.

for those of you who dont know, RS3's come with monitors in the headrests. so i guess i paid for a vehicle with an alarm system, but what i got was a broken window, and a headrest/monitor stolen. now i have to buy a new set of monitors/headrests because i cant get a replacement for just the one especially with the RS3 plaque on it.

way to go scion...

im really sorry to steal the thunder away from scions alarms, but get something... ANYTHING else. i know i will be. this isnt the first time one of my vehicles has been broken into, but it is the first time that my alarm hasnt gone off.

im really sorry for the rant, but wouldnt you guys be ____ed if this happened to you?

mark-
is there anything i can do to escalate this issue through scion? i know i cant be the first person whos alarm didnt go off.

RS3 xB's should have came without the dvd and headrest monitors.
Anybody who follows up on scions would know the equiptment of green xB's.
I'm sorry it happened to you but, that's a theft waiting to happen.
In my opinion, I wouldn't buy a car that has that potential of getting broken into.
However, if those particular screens are theft proof (like some honda factory radios)
and work only by a theft code input, then maybe it'll be considered.
Don't really know if any headrest screens are designed to be theft proof as of yet.

OK, just to shake out some of the chaff...

The tC has a TOTALLY different alarm system than the alarm systems that are optional in the normal xA and xB vehicles.

The RS3 xB has a different alarm system than the one available as an option in the 'normal' xBs...
