heh.. I'm working on the brackets to install the amp behind the rear panels presently, and then I have to finalize the mounting situation for the motherboard/PSU.. probably this weekend I'll have something up!

yeah, streetdeck would be the way to go. I had roadrunner initially but ended up going with streetdeck because of its integration, cool factor, gestures and potential. the only downside to streetdeck is the fact that a lot of the modules are disable when you drive. But I would go for sd right now, rather than buying gps software (like iguidance) for RR. Now I have a copy of iguidance that am not using.

Isn't the cabin air filter located inside the glovebox? How does that work when you need to replace it?

I really like that setup, just because of the ease of modifying. You get a lot more leeway using the glovebox, it seems.

i was half joking. i dont have any problems with vista on my end tho. its just eye candy. if you are going to run with a carputer then why not run with vista cause it looks nice. its not like you are doing important data logging with speadsheets and word docs.
Vista probably wouldn't work to well on a carpc cuz it needs a pretty powerful cpu and a lot of ram to run the way you want it. Carpc's run slower cpus and not more then 512ram.

thanks for the comment. the cabin filter is located behind the glovebox so i don't have any problems swapping it out. i made all the cables have a little more play in them to drop the glovebox down enough to get to the cabin air filter. and yes, i have already swapped the mainboard, added the video card and more usb ports from the usb header on the mainboard. besides, my glovebox originally was just holding junk and if i sell the car i can put the whole thing back to stock. i have not cut any of the original parts of the car.

cool, looks real clean!
I've run frodoplayer before, it's alright, nothing snazzy.

I got uber lazy w/ the maint so I just ended up w/ the avic z1 ;P

Def go with the tried and true for software, i'm sure you've found out it's PIA to maintain... Stability is key! Even minus a feature or two. Esp for daily usage.
