Default Type X v. Type R

So I was searching eBay for subs, and the 10" Alpine type X (brand new) can

be found for 220$, and the 12" type R is about 150$, the RMS wattage of

the X is 1000W, the R is 600W... should i spend the extra 70$ for the type X?

i have a type r 12 and its way to much then what i needed. its crisp clean bass but if i turn the bass up to 2 i cant even hear the words lol. but your only getting a ten so its up to you i say you'd be fine with the type r and buy a better amp. the amp is more important then the sub i feel like

And a good combination of the two.. will send you into sound nervana..ha ha.. but seriously. Balance with your tunes is important. If all you want is bass.. sure.. get the most powerful thing you can put in your car, but consider what you're listening to and buy accordingly.

well if i get the type R, I was thinking about getting the MTX JH 600. I've heard good things, and I do not really want overpowering bass and have a pretty limited budget. Is this pair good?
