like i stated before this is not CARBON FIBER, this is a hybrid composite material, not true carbon fiber, just a composite fabric with a twill like cf

yep ben's right... the only improvement would be to use a hybrid like the kevlar or zylon ones cause then you could say that your part is bullet proof :D

Actually you can get CF in any color you want.

Just an example from HIN I was at last weekend, RED!! :

thats not true carbon thats a hybrid fabric composite, you can have strands of carbon fiber woven with different materials but a true carbon fiber composite is solely carbon fiber, there is no such thing as "colored" carbon fibers. same thing as there is no such thing as colored charcoal, carbon is carbon which is black
Im very well aware of that. but like in the picture I posted it can be done. Those hoods are real carbon fiber hoods. Just dyed or litly painted over. Its like saying your car isnt really black, its silver underneath (the metal).

You can have a carbon fiber piece whatever color you want. its still carbon fiber and shows as carbon fiber, but is the color of your choice.
But like shown there is also composits. but I think they show a little weird. Like the white one shown just looks odd.

What you aren't seeming to understand is that most colored hoods you get are NOT carbon fiber. Carbon can not be dyed it can only be candied over to change the color (or you could buy a crappy hood and leave it in the sun until it yellows). Typically the hoods you buy with colored fabrics are fiberglass or kevlar which sometimes is woven with carbon to create that black/color look. However, that is NOT carbon fiber and doesn't have the same strength and other characteristics as the carbon fiber weave alone. Kevlar, zylon, and basalt could actually be deemed and upgrade from a carbon part... but you get what you pay for and you will notice the price increase.

I like the white weave hoods and red weave hoods......they are really sharp..........I wonder if the red and other colors are candied when they are making the rolls or if it is done after the parts are formed.
