what is the best radar dectector money can buy
aside from not speeding.. what is the best radar detector on the market? i figure with my handheld cb and a good detector i can dodge almost any ticket
you can't dodge the police, they have laser, unmarked units that pace you, speed enforcement air craft etc.
but there are lots of places that have done actual tests on the best radar detectors. go look one up.
basically the passport x50 is good, the valentine one is need and so on.

as in a cb cops usually are on a whole separate network that would require your cb to be programmed into there frequency which in turn is illegal.
my father company installs cb's in all the local cops and owns many tower sites, im not 100% sure on what the cop's run on but your standard cb will not work to "pick up cops"

dodge a ticket? or dodge a cop? cuz i usually look out for police cars, not pieces of paper flying....i mean, they can give you a piece of paper otherwise known as a ticket.

Valentine 1 is the best, bar none.
2nd is the Passport
3rd is the Bel Sti/995/xxx
Lidar (laser) is not as big a problem as some make it out to be. The main thing is that Lidar units are expensive enough to keep them from being in widespread use. Secondly, laser jammers ARE illegal. However, it is usually only a $100 fine (depending on the state), and does not count as a moving violation. And a $100 fine sure beats a $100-$300 fine that goes on your record. Note that RADAR JAMMERS go into a completely different category and can get you arrested. There's more about it, but I recommend checking out radardetector.net for more info. A good laser jammer will also have a kill switch so you can enable them to read you once you slow down.
