new HU - alpine cda-9857 or the ed stealth enclosure?

why the 9885?

 

ahhh IDK, just wanted to throw it out there. The only difference between the 2 is

9885-
4 preamp volts
key buttons can be blue/red or red
white display

9857-
2 preamp volts
key buttons green
biolite display

i would stick with the 9857 then go after the ED enclouser.

anyone got any good HU suggestion that is cheaper then the 9857?

 

The 9856 looks exactly the same as the 9857 except for the screen and probably lower RMS. And it's 150 cheaper. There's no need to buy that expensive of a headunit unless it has features that are actually useful.

 

what is rms?

 

RMS stands for root mean square. Basically its like the average power output of the HU because its not always going to be putting out peak power.
