i would guess you need an install kit and some wiring or harnesses maybe. perhaps you can get that from crutchfield, best buy, circuit city etc.

as for the parking brake thingy.

indash dvd players have to connect to the parking brake sensor to detect whether or not the vehicle is parked and therefore not moving because it is ILLEGAL and irresponsible and dangerous to drive while playing with a distracting movie playing on the screen.

but it is very easy to get around that.

You are going to need to drill the stock metal mounts so that the mounting holes are slightly back from the stock position so the door will close.

I will have to look at the wiring on mine but the shop put a tiny toggle switch in the ashtray. You cycle it once after turning the HU on and its good to go.

Let me know if you have an IPOD. I have great deal on the cable to hook to this HU.

I have the Clarion VRX775VD and it requires that the e-brake(read that as ground wire)
be cycled three times to watch a video. I just mounted a micro switch under the dash that
is (normally closed). I press the button three times and then the video will play. It is
important that the switch be normally closed as it needs to go to ground continuously
after you cycle it.

Three cycles! So you have to press, release, press, release, press, release? That just doesn't sound right. Right now I just switch over then back but after I replace this switch with a momentary switch it will be just press and release.

my old clarion DVD only required a constant ground but the new one is only a few months
old and I tried the constant ground but it did not work. Three quick press and release
seems to do the trick.

also, is there a kit out there to clean up the sides to make it look like a clean fit?
