I had the OBX SpeedStar **** for more than a year...screw on, no hassle install took like 2 minutes...it took longer to center the metal shift pattern insert than it did to get the **** itself in. No chipping, no flaking, in both hot and cold conditions. I bought a TRD leather **** because I was sick of the metal...gave the OBX to my buddy with an auto tC...used the plastic insert, screwed on like a champ...no problems from him either. Not bad for a free **** (bought it with the $50 gift certificate Scion sent me way back when) :D

I got one better for ya...

Used a $50 to buy the leather OBX... but since I was in the process of opening the dash to install my XM and stuff, eventually the plastic threads wore out and rendered it useless...

I tried contacting the dealer (McGeorges) that I bought it from for another plastic insert, but I couldn't fully "scrape" out the plastic from the other one (it obviously didn't twist out naturally).

I was able to get a cash refund...

I'm happy using the stock...

However, my brother mentioned he wanted to buy me some TRD one... some sort of composite material with "TRD" around the bottom edge... He bought one for his IS300 and loves it... and it fits stock I guess...

*** Does anyone have the brass insert for the Auto that they'd sell me?
I have a killer Momo ****, but it came with crappy plastic inserts which blow.

I'm happy to pay a fair price for it.
