Where do I find the S SENS wire (speed sensor) for the tC???
I plan on getting a Kenwood GPS unit for my tC and I've been reading the pdf insructions on how to install it. One of the connectors it needs to be attached to is the S SENS wire (speed sensor) of the car. Where is it and is it hard to access? Do I have to splice any factory wires or is there an open ended wire?
Also some wires have to goto the battery via the fuse box? Where does it connect in the box or does it go straight to the battery?

(ECM is behind glove box)
Speed Sense: Purple
ECM, 2nd pluf from top, pin 17
Reverse Wire: Pink +
Top of fuse box, 14 pin plug, pin 2
Reverse can usually also be found in the drivers door jam out under the car near the drivers door jam. If no luck go straight to the rear taillights.
Let me know if theres anything else.
(Reverse too if your doing nav.)

The photo below shows the orange wire on pin-25 bottom row going to the alarm(splice), the Pin-14 speed sense orange wire is barely visable on the top row/just right of center next to the grey/blue wire.
Ivben Blown, where did you connect the reverse signal wire. I know you can goto the rear lights, but I'd rather use one of the wires in the passenger side door jam. Do you know which color it might be?

BTW, there is also two pink wires in this connector, the manual says the B/U wire is on pin-16 but I found that this was an error.
In this photo the back-up wire is the pink wire next to the brown wire.
I just installed the avn2454 according to these directions. When I turn on the unit the GPS signal "GPS" never comes up so I am not getting a signal. I tried driving all over my town and no signal. Anyone ever experience this? It thinks I am in New York, and thats where it starts when I turn on my engine. When I drive the curson moves according to the speed sense, but the GPS is not loading the right location.
If you arent really sure what you're doing, I would pay someone who does when you're splicing wires from the ECM/ECU... Speed sense in particular is one that if you fault the wire you will fry your computer and have a 3000 lb paper weight.
Make sure whatever wire you connect to the speed pulse has a diode in-line with it, so as to only allow electricity to move one way through the wire in case your GPS/Head unit fries you don't take the car with it.
There was a very good post that contained the pictures and more that are posted above by Ivben Blown. Just do a search for it and you should have all the information you need. I picked up reverse behind the glove box as shown above, but I picked up speed pulse from the HVAC Cluster's harness. I cannot remember the pin off hand however. Do a search and see if you can find it on the forums still.

What about the region? Did you pick that? e.g region 1 is like North East, 2 West, etc.
You need to pick the right region your in.
Sounds to me like your GPS antenna isn't working. The speed sense looks like it IS working, but without coordinates from the GPS, the unit hasn't selected the proper map/region. When a GPS signal is recieved, a small box is displayed on the upper left corner that says "GPS", if you don't see that box you're not picking up the signal from the satellites. Try relocating the GPS antenna.
You need to pick the right region your in.
