Hey guys, I'm hoping I don't get flamed for this but the struts that hold up the hatch on my brother's tC are blown. They no longer carry the weight of the hatch and I want to buy some replacements for him. Has anyone ever replaced them using the ones found on ebay and if so, did they last? Also how much do they run when purchasing them from the dealer?

I actually just replaced mine. I went to autozone. They got me some mighty-lift or something like that. They are awesome. Ran me $25 for each side. Once you push the button and give it a small nudge, the hatch flies open. Makes it a lot easier and less likely to break the garnish if he uses it.
