i am trying to get Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 component.
its specs are
4 OHM
25-100 watts RMS
peak power handling 400 watts

I want an Infinity Amp to go with it. And they don't leave me with much choice.
Infinity Reference 475a
75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (90 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)
180 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms in bridged mode


Can i bridge it to power the 6.1? Is 180watts too much for the component?

 

It's too much power but it still might be possible if you adjust the gains properly.

 

put about 100-125 watts per side to them and you'll be ok. i personally did like the 6.1's that i had. they really REALLY lacked midbass.

 

That amp will work great - don't worry about "too much power"...

 

yes as long as you set the gains correctly you should be fine.

i saw Infinity Reference 7541A on ebay:

111 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (139 watts x 4 at 2 ohms)

278 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms (4a-ohm stable in bridged mode)

I will get this instead.

 

bah rms is just a guide line
I had 250ish rms from a Fosgate amp on some CDTs for about a year. TONS of mid bass and lod as **** the cdts were rated for like 80 rms
