Will Celica seats fit the tC?
I was just at a Toyota dealership for a Scion event and peeped inside a Celca.
The seats look pretty nice and maybe a bit more sporty that the tC seats. has anyone tried these out yet?
In other words, would they be a quick swap?
Anyone have a buddy with a Celica and want to try it? Pretty please?

I'll be at a dealership next week and I can measure...what do we need to know?
if these fit it'll be cool cause there has to be a lot of used and cheap ones out there....

You wouldn't want to put them in the tC because I had a Celica before the tC and they sit about a foot lower.
You would not be able to see over the steering wheel with them. A Celica sits just like a C5 Corvette, you sink down in to it.

Compared to my WRX i feel kinda high up in the tC...even with the seats lowered all the way. And I'm not tall...5'11" I'd be interested in seeing what happens but before I buy the seats

I have both cars right now and here is what I know:
The Celica seats, like stated above, would seat you really low and I'm not sure it would seat you well above the dash. The Celica seats a lot narrower and "hug" the driver a lot better.
The Celica seats also have a lot less padding. I don't know if mine are just "smushed" after the years but they are not as comfortable when driving compared to the tC.
It's worth a shot. The Celica seats are much nicer looking and give a sportier feel so go for it. I say.

Giving up your comfort seating capabilities?
Someday my friend, someday
Just teasing
But the comfort seating feature is the main reason why I wouldn't want to change my stock seats out.

Yes they will!
So! Short answer, Yes. Long answer... You need to make some modifications... I personally didn't want to pay for custom rails, so I drilled out the rivets on the mounting hardware for the Scion tC seats, as well as the rivets on the Celica seats for the mounting hardware. Made the appropriate measurements, and attached the tC mounting brackets to the Celica rails with bolts. This part is important though. One of the tC mounting brackets is WELDED. Not just riveted. Broke out an angle grinder with a cutting disk and made fairly quick work of it. Also the tC mounting hardware is about an inch closer together than the original Celica hardware, so you will need something to bridge the gap. Essentially mounting something to the Celica rail and then mounting the hardware to that. I opted for wood just for ease of drilling and I had it on hand, but metal would probably be more secure if you're worried.
TL;DR - Yes, but it takes work. I personally hate the Scion tC seats, they kill my back, and my head touches the roof of the tC being that I'm 6ft1. The Celica seats do sit a bit lower, but it worked out perfectly for me. You could also add spacers between the mounting hardware and the rails fairly easy if you wanted.
Cheers,
- Vestro
