Default Will my car run without my cluster?

I want to send my cluster, door window switches, and HVAC out to get a led swap. But will my car still run? I know I won't have AC heat, window control, or speedo.

it's not a good idea to run the vehicle without them in.

it'll run semi-ok... but most times it will throw a CEL once you plug them back in... as well as the fact the odometer will be incorrect.

What do you mean semi-ok? Just a chance of a CEL?

get a little solder and do the swap yourself. i thought about sending them in, but being a daily driver doesnt give it many options expcept for doing it yourself. no worries, its not too hard.

I only drive maybe 10 miles a day. So if it will still run ok I'll just go for it. Can I reset the CEL or do you have to go to a shop?

except that the fact during the whole time it's really illegal to do so... and the odometer thing... which again... another legal issue.

^you guys should listen to him, he tells all of you the truth about it being illegal because the miles will get recorded on the ECU and if you decide to sell the car and the new owner checks up on it then it will show a different mileage than the speedometer.

the issue is that the odometer reading is stored on the cluster itself.

Most of my led swap customers drive without them while I have the cluster. It will do nothing to the car, but as mentioned, it is illegal to drive without gauges. However, if a dealer is to swap your gauges, they will recommend you not drive it.. .but most times will let you keep the car. They program in the mileage as close as they can get on the new one.

In other words, it wont hurt anythintg, but none of us will say we back the decision due to legal reasons ;) That is your choice.
