I am installing a water temperature gauge in my 07 tc and i tried splicing the wires to the stock temp sensor on the upper right side of the engine... with the wires connected one way my gauge doesnt light up at all and if i switch the wires my gauge comes on but just keeps flashing without reading the temp
... i have glowshift gauges...
I appreciate any help

i can tell you didn't use the water temperature sender correct? you will need to get a water sender attachment from glowshift so you can cut your radiator hose to put the adapter between it and then screw on the temperature sender, you can also cut a small hole in the radiator hose to fit the sender in but it will most likely pop out and then it will be choas from there. as far as wiring it from the gauge you should have 4 wires, black-red-yellow-green, and then a white or green and black wires on the sender itself. from the sender you have to ground the black wire and the white/green wire goes to the green wire that is in the plug of the gauge, from the gauge you already have the green to the sender so black is ground as well. yellow is constant power so you can connect that to the battery or another wire that has constant power, if you have the colored gauges then it will remember which color you last left it on, if not it will reset every time you turn off the car. the red is basically your switched 12 volts that turns the gauge on whenever you turn on the car BUT i ran into a problem when i installed a set of glowshift gauges for some one, the readings would be fine but it would not light up even when the parking lights where off or on when i had it connected to a wire that gets power everytime the car is on like the cig lighter is one that can be used. so i had to get the power from the parking lights and the gauge worked perfect with the readings and lights only when the parking lights where on, person didn't mind but i called glowshift and they didn't help even over their chat screen. i did try a few other wires to get the gauge to light up and work without using the parking lights but had no luck. good luck on getting it to work correctly
